Old 🔥 returns In season 2, episode 11, DeeDee introduces Mona to her new boyfriend at the time, Neil Crawford, and when Mona meets him, she acts awkward and leaves. DeeDee goes down to investigate, and Mona explains that Neil was her high school boyfriend and her first lover.  Mona sees that DeeDee is interested in Neil, and so she agrees that DeeDee can date Neil as long as DeeDee is fine with it. Mona disregards her feelings that come up for Neil. DeeDee agrees to continue dating Neil, but as he comes around and talks with Mona, Mona begins to develop those feelings for Neil.  Mona sits on these feelings until she goes up to DeeDee and takes back what she said about being okay with DeeDee dating Neil. Dee refuses to stop seeing Neil and continues to date him until the holidays come. She decides to break up with him because he is more focused on his work than the relationship.  Naturally, Mona steps in as a big sister and puts her hurt feelings aside to comfort DeeDee, ...

Mona's Background

Mona Thorne, from the show Half & Half , is the oldest of three siblings: DeeDee and baby Drew. Mona's mom, Phyllis Thorne, was married to Charles Thorne before they divorced when Mona was between the ages of 2 and 4. Charles then remarried Big DeeDee and bore little DeeDee, and several years later bore baby Drew. Charles, Big DeeDee, and DeeDee lived a very wealthy life, where DeeDee was spoiled but not Mona. Mona, as the oldest, felt she was left in DeeDee's shadow, never measuring up. Phyllis has since become a therapist; Mona has since begun working in the music industry; Big DeeDee is a rich housewife re-entering the acting world; DeeDee is excelling in life (as expected); and Charles is trying to manage his family and businesses.  Mona has known about DeeDee since she was born, but their relationship has always been rocky until they reach young adulthood, and DeeDee makes efforts to get closer to Mona.
